Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

(for Light Vans.

The increasing use of the Ford as a commercial vehicle and the everpresent necessity for the strictest possible economy in fuel is sufficient cause for our examining any device which may be useful as an aid to attaining this economy.

The Holley carburetter, usually rmployed on the Ford chassis, lends itself by reason of its special construction, to dashboard manipulation of the jet, so that the fuel may be altered from time to time, in accordance with road and other conditions. This, as is well known, is effected by means of a small disc which protrudes through to the driyer's seat on the dashboard, and which is connected to a screw on the carburetter, the position of the taper end of which determines the size of the jet orifice.

The Moorauto petrol saver is a device which connects this same screw to a similar disc which is, however, more conveniently placed and situated on the side of the steering column, below the control levers.

The agent is Rejax, Ltd., 37-38, Broad Street, Golden Square, London, W., and the price is 17s. 6d. Very little fitting is needed, and its use should constitute a considerable economy.

• A Useful Mirror.

It is too frequently the custom on the part of commercial-vehicle owners to endeavour to economize in accessories. This is noticeable when lamps and horns are being purchased, and it also takes the form of eliminating such a really useful item as the driving mirror from the equipment. A driving mirror is almost, if not quite, as essential as any of the other items we have mentioned. Properly positioned, it enables the driver to judge more readily if he can with safety take a rapid turn to the right ; it is,useful when he is thinking of passing traffic in front, and also on other innumerable occasions.

One of these accessories, which is particularly handy, is the KalesHaskell mirror for the Ford. It is sold in two forms, the difference being in regard to the method of fitting the device to the screen of the van. The London agent is Brown Bros., Ltd., Gt. Eastern Street, E.C. The price varies from 9s. 6d. to 18s. 6d., according to the finish and type ordered.
