DESIGNED especially for the movement of wheelchair, sitting or recumbent patients from point to point on a hospital estate. The Morrison ambulance on show has an alloypanelled body on a standard Morrison D36/25 chassis with SCR stepless controller and 36-cell battery. The glass reinforced plastics cab has sliding doors and there is a full-width Ratcliff tailgate platform which is battery operated and is enclosed by the rear doors.

N. Hanlon (Ireland) Ltd., Dublin Road, Longford, Ireland, A NEW NAME among ambulance exhibitors is that of N. Hanlon {Ireland) Ltd., a company that will display three units. One is on the Ford Transit 25cwt chassis, another on the Bedford CF 35cwt chassis, and the third on a long wheelbase Land-Rover. The Ford design was introduced last April since when substantial orders have been completed not only for the various Irish services but also for a number of UK ambulance authorities. The Land-Rover is at present manufactured mainly for the Middle East and is designed for general cross-country and military use.

A MOBILE LIBRARY on a Commer 2500 chassis is of composite body construction with translucent plastics roof, The interior is lined with Sapele ply and the shelving is made from Parana pine with Sapele edging. Among the fittings is a gas convector heater supplied from a cylinder carried in the locker.

TWO bodies that in general follow the lines of the Working Party Report (Part 11) on Ambulance Design are being displayed by Lomas. The glass-reinforced plastics SF body shown on a Ford Transit with automatic transmission, has a tailgate door giving freedom of movement when handling stretchers and full firstaid equipment including a Minuteman resuscitator. Both this and the B-type on the Bedford CF 25cwt chassis have two Lomas L 10/5 stretcher trolleys providing for head and knee movement and full postural drainage.

ONE-FlECE glass-reinforced plastics bodies with tubular steel framework are to be seen on both the Smith-Appleyard ambulances which have been designed basically in accordance with the Working Party recommendations, The one based on the British Leyland EA chassis has been planned to give good driving characteristics in conjunction with maximum space in the main saloon. The second exhibit has been arranged in accordance with the requirements of Merthyr Tydfil to permit use for recumbent patients, sitting cases, or emergencies.

Wadham Stringer (Coachbufiders) Ltd., Hambledon Road, Waterlooville, Portsmouth, P07 70,4 TVVO Wadham multi-posture trolleys are used on the new glass-reinforced plastics body which is to be seen on the EA chassis. A Wadham tail-lift is incorporated in the composite body of a welfare vehicle for Lincolnshire. The chassis in this case is a British Leyland 420 FG: capacity is four wheelchairs and six sitting cases or a total of 12 sitting patients.
