• Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co (Great Britain) Ltd has designed a new tyre to meet the requirements of the Leyland National single-decked bus (page 147). It is Goodyear's first low-profile tubeless steel radial and is known as the 70 Series Unisteel. It is designated as an 11/70 (10.9)-22.5. Actual dimensions are: overall diameter 38in., width 10.9in., static loaded radius, 17.76in., rim 8.25-22.5, inflation pressure 120 psi. Initial production is for British Leyland but the tyre is expected to become more generally available early next year.
