• Last week in Paris, Renault signed a 700m francs contract providing for its participation in the building and modernization of vehicle works in the USSR. At Kazan Renault is to set up a new factory to produce 150,000 lorries annually.

Currently, negotiations with Russia are about to begin for the formation, under the aegis of Daimler-Benz, Stuttgart, of a European consortium to build "a giant lorry works on the Kama river-, according to the EEC news bulletin "Europe".
