Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Mr W. M. Levitt. Metropolitan deputy LA, granted on Tuesday interim B licences for two trailers to D. L. Haulage Ltd, of London SE12. The application had originally been for an A licence for general goods but, following objections from both BR and BRS. this had been amended to a B licence for business relating to one customer only. Radiant Fuels Ltd.

Mr D. Land, the applicant, said arrangements had been made for maintenance on an approved RHA schedule to be carried out by a mobile maintenance specialist and facilities had also been arranged with a commercial vehicle garage in Plumstead.

For the applicant, Mr G. W. Hall, sales manager of Radiant Fuels, said that the grant would not deprive any of their present contractors at their Luton depot of any work. Rail services had been considered as an alternative but rejected because the light weight and the bulk of smokeless fuel made this means of transport uneconimical.
