• A group of 45 RHA members will leave Gatwick next Friday morning at 7.20 bound for a three-week tour of the United States and Canada. In addition to sightseeing, the party will visit six transport companies.

One visit takes them to the American end of the Sea Land operation at Elizabeth, New Jersey. At Pittsburgh, they will visit two companies—Eazor Express Inc. a long-distance haulage operator employing 2270 people—and Pennsylvania Truck Lines, who employ 735 people on trucking and tramping work. When they go to Buffalo. the party will visit Boss-Linco Lines, another long-distance operator with a turnover of $ 12m a year. Car transporters in the party will be interested in the visit to M and G Convoy Inc, who are engaged on inter-state car transport. This company's annual turnover amounts to S 20m.

Back in Boston, there is a visit planned for the small operators. particularly to M and M Transportation Co. This relatively small organization with only 100 employees has a turnover of S 25m a year.
