Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LIKE many other classes of transport, the conveyance by road of heavy stone slabs----for monumental and high-class constructional purposes— demands the use of a special type of body, if the goods carried are not to suffer damage from various obvious factors. A concern which has found an unusual body to be necessary for the above purpose is Diespeker and Co., Ltd., 57-60, Holborn Viaduct, London, E.C., as will be seen by studying the accompanying illustrations. Both the chassis and body of this machine have been produced by Dennis Bros., Ltd., of Guildford.

The stone slabs, consisting of marble, mosaic or tiling, are most conveniently carried on edge, so they are loaded by means of the overhead pulleyblock, shown in the illustrations, which is run forward to the required • position, the slabs being then lowered and secured by means of the detachable bars which run from the top of one side of the body to the other.

The vehicle, which incorporates the 6-ton Dennis chassis with a wheelbase of 15 ft. 64 ins., has an overall length of 26 ft. 9 ins., the width of the interior of the body being 6 ft. 9 ins. It is especially interesting to note that the body is equipped with no fewer than 58 of the detachable securing bars, whilst the pulley-block, which runs on a girder extending some distance beyond the rear of the vehicle, is constructed to lift up to 15 cwt.
