Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Turbo Star Logistics O-licence revoked

THE O-LICENCE of Queenborough-based Turbo Star (European) Logistics has been revoked by Nick Denton, traffic commissioner (TC) for London and the South East, who described the firm as having “little or no understanding of its obligations” .

In a written decision following a September public inquiry in Eastbourne, the TC also disqualified directors Matthew Divers and Robert Divers from holding an O-licence until September 2013.

The TC described how his office had written to Turbo Star on a number of occasions since the original grant of the licence in June 2011 asking for evidence of adequate financial standing, which the company had failed to do.

Staff working on behalf of the TC also found that the firm was no longer using premises on Rushenden Road in Queenborough – the only place it was authorised to keep vehicles.

TC Denton noted that the company’s transport manager had left the business more than six months ago but had still not been replaced. The firm’s failure to notify the appointment of Matthew and Robert Divers as new directors when they were registered with Companies House caused additional concern for the TC.

Both individuals had been involved with revoked O-licences, one of which was terminated on financial grounds.
