Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

and the merger of the Traffic Examiners with the Vehicle Inspectorate, will we see more effective enforcement against those operators who are unlicensed, who do not maintain their vehicles and cut their rates so much that honest operators are finding it hard to cope? I B Birmingham.

AI have over the past few months broached the subject with the Licensing Authorities for the Western, SouthEastern and Metropolitan areas. The answers is "yes" they hope so. As I have said before, enforcement only works when there is cooperation between all the authorities and the industry itself.

Is there now a need for an industry watchdog set up by the RHA and F1'A? Would the industry pay for a few experienced transport men to travel the country reporting on illegal operators? I suggest the forum for this is an open debate between the two biggest associations and their members.
