• French government officials are visiting Brussels to justify a £30m aid package for the Saab-Scania truck plant in Angers. EC competition commissioner Sir Leon Britton has suggested that the subsidy is frozen pending an investigation into the future state of the Community's heavy truck sector and the risk of overcapacity.
