Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Reading Transport plans to sell its commercial vehicle servicing and repair subsidiary by the end of the year — probably to Renault Truck Industries.

The three-year-old division, Reading Transport Commercial, is expected to fetch over including five engineering and two administration staff and equipment, some of the customer base and the Bennet Road site.

Renault says a decision on the deal will be made early next month. The body and paint shop will not be included in the sale, and Reading Transport will continue to maintain its 140-strong bus fleet inhouse.

"The commercial maintenance and repair business is an area we cannot see any immediate scope to develop," says RT's Jackie Brownlee, who is the new employee relations manager.

The company plans to move to larger premises at Great Knollys Street in the centre of Reading by the end of 1991. Its Mill Lane site will be redeveloped by Reading Council; the body and paint shop wilt be housed at a site at Basingstoke Road until the move to Great Knollys Street.

CI Two new members are to join the RT management team which is led by Rod Wilson, who became managing director in May. Colin Thompson will join in December as traffic operations director; and John Hargrave will become finance director.
