The three-year contract, for which six other major tanker operators tendered, is Laporte's first move to third party distribution. Tankfreight will take over the existing fleet of two 24-tonne rigid tankers and six 38-tonne artics.
Eleven of Laporte's 13 drivers will he taken on by Tankfreight: the others are expected to be redeployed within Laporte.
