• Construction of the A30 Okehampton Bypass in Devon is to start next month.
The 8.5km (5.3mile) scheme will improve the route between Cornwall and the end of the M5 at Exeter by removing the congestion on the A30 at Okehampton.
It will have dual two-lane carriageways to provide a continuous dual carriageway link from the M5 to Sourton Down, West of Okehampton.
It will take about two years to complete and will cost £16.6 million.
Sheerness delays • Traffic running to and from Sheerness must expect delays as from next February.
The Department of Transport is then to commence essential maintenance work on the A249 Kingsferry Bridge that leads onto the Isle of Sheppey.
