Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Mitsubishi's latest L300 panel van and L200 pickup make their European debuts at the Birmingham Motor Show this week, but UK operators will have to wait 1 until January next year before right-hand drive models go on sale in Britain.

The forward-control L300 will be offered in two versions — a 2.26-tonne GVW standard, or 2.5-tonne GVW long-wheelbase van — with the choice of either a 51kW(68hp) 1.6-litre petrol engine — for the first time in a British L300 — a 2.5-litre 61kW(68hp) diesel engine. Both models, however, have a five-speed gearbox.

Payload on the L300 will range from 885kg on the diesel-engined standard van, to a useful 1.14-tonnes on the 2.43m, long-wheelbase model. Load volumes for both versions are around 4.3 and 5.64m3 respectively.

All L300 vans will be supplied with twin, sliding side-doors and a top-hinged rear tailgate.

The arrival of the L200 pickup marks Mitsubishi's return to the UK one-tonne pickup sector. Three versions — again due to arrive in early 1987 — will be offered. These comprise a 4 x 2 longwheelbase model, with either an 66kW(88hp) two-litre petrol engine or a 2.5-litre 51kW(68hp) diesel, and a 4x4 standard wheelbase pickup with the two-litre petrol engine.

A five-speed gearbox is fitted to all L200 pickups, while the 4x4 version has an extra two-speed transfer box.

The standard wheelbase 4x4 pickup has a load bed length of 1,845mm, the long wheelbase L200's load bed measures 2,260mm. Carrying capacity for both models is around one tonne.
