Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PLACKETTS Transport Ltd of Stapleford, Nottinghamshire is the only transport company to win a Manpower Services Commission Fit for Work Award.

The awards were given to 100 companies judged to be setting an example to industry and commerce in their attitude to the employment of the disabled.

Plackett's currently have nine disabled employees and one, a ticket clerk, has spina bifida. Most of the disabled employees are women in clerical jobs though the company has employed two as gatemen.

The company now has a temporary freeze on recruitment but because it has been satisfied with past disabled employees, it sees no reason why it should not go on employing more.

Placketts gave CM its message to other transport operators thinking of recruiting disabled employees: "Don't be afraid of these people. Give them a fair crack of the whip."
