ESSO tanker drivers are being urged to reject a 14 per cent wage increase which would give them a 021 basic rate at the end of 12 months.
Transport and General Workers Union commercial group secretary Jack Ashwell told CM that members will be asked to reject the offer when it is put to them on October 24.
The staged increase would include a cost of living increase of just over 14 per cent and a productivity deal to be implemented over the next 12 months.
Senior Esso shop stewards are due to meet on November 3, and talks between the two sides resume the following day.
