)1.10ED unladen weights for three of ERF's Weightsaver dels could allow each of the vehicles to carry up to half a ton of ra payload — all three models are on show at the NEC Motor avv.

he 36R2 B-Series 4x2 tractive t, plated for operation up to tonnes gtw, is powered by the Iis-Royce 265L turbo and erndies such weightsaving feaes as an aluminium bumper, minium wheels, and a new lighter-weight frame assembly including welded cross-members instead of bolts and lighterweight rear axle.

The bulky air-intake gantry has gone and in its place is a new and smaller conical air filter. More weight has been lost by fitting an aluminium fuel tank.

The 32G4 B-series 8x4 rigid tipper, plated for operation up to 32 tonnes gvw and powered by the Gardner 6I_XC, has drawnsteel chassis side-members which are thicker on the upper and lower flanges than on the vertical section.

This vehicle also has an aluminium fuel tank, reduced air-intake assembly, and other weightsaving features incorporated in the 4x2 tractor.

The 25C3 M-Series three-axle rigid tipper, shown in chassis form and plated for operation up to 25.3 tonnes gvw, comes with the option of a Cummins VT555 turbo or a Perkins VT8.640 turbo. Like the four-axle tipper, this sixwheeler has a drawn-steel chassis. There are three wheel options: standard pressed steel, cast steel and aluminium.

The latest version of ERF's compound-panneled corrosionresistant cab, the SP3, has been redesigned so that the full width of its front can be opened to give access to the forward parts of the engine and to allow speedy removal of the radiator.
