THE number of lorries passing through the port of Dover had increased by 26.74 per cent in August compared with the same month last year. Cargo import and export has increased by just under 15 per cent.
Figures released by the Dover Harbour Board show a total of 162,679 lorry movements for the first eight months of this year and cargo tonnage is listed as being just short of 214 million tons.
