Dr. J. H. Weaving, 50, chief engineer, Tractor Division. British Leyland Corporation, on Wednesday was elected chairman of the Automobile Division of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. He has been associated with the MIRA since its foundation and is a member of the council and management committee as well as chairman of the research committee. He has also represented the motor industry on the research committee of the CBI. Following his election Dr. Weaving delivered his chairman's address on "Two-stroke engines and car turbines-.
