• Although most of the departments operated by Coras lompair Eireann during the 1967-68 year were profitable there was a net deficit of £480,000 after allowing for the annual subvention of £2m.
An additional 130 Atlantean buses were put into service in the Dublin city area during the year. Surplus on the city operations amounted to £264,000. The provincial buses yielded £487,000, an increase on the previous year of £263,000. The operating surplus on the road freight section amounted to £222,000 while the hotel and catering services produced a profit of £181,000. The operating loss on the railways was £2,185,000. Interest on transport stocks amounted to £766,000 and £180,000 was allocated to the sinking funds.
