• Eight hundred lorry drivers and mates in Bradford are threatening an unofficial pay strike from November 1. They are demanding rises similar to those granted in Liverpool and Hull—a basic wage of £16 for a 40-hour week.
Mr. Frank Harris, local employers' secretary, commented that a strike would be specially damaging for the wool textile industry. Most of the goods which left Bradford by road were for export, he added.
