• Added impetus will be given to many aspects of training with the advent of legislation described in the Transport Bill, if only because of the heavy personal responsibilities and liabilities attached to those named as a transport manager in a haulage operator's licence.
This was one of the points made by Mr. Noel R. Wynn (Robert Wynn and Sons Ltd., Newport, Mon), national chairman, Road Haulage Association, when opening a twoweek-long Transport Managers' Training
Course at Pendley Manor, Tring, on Monday. The course is being sponsored by the Luton, Watford and district sub-area of the RHA and is the first of its kind to be held.
Mr. Wynn thought it extremely appropriate that the RHA were providing facilities for transport managers to meet together, discuss their problems and listen to lectures from experts in the subjects which affect them.
Looking ahead Mr. Wynn said: "I do not consider that we in road transport have anything to fear for the future—despite misgivings about certain parts of the Transport Bill. This is true because we who work in the industry always have been, and always will be, able and indeed willing to accept and take advantage of change."
