is now available from the Northern Aluminium Co., Ltd., Banbury, Oxon, and is claimed to provide a surface finish having improved adhesion for paint. Tests carried out in this connection are said to have shown that the new sheeting is some 24 times as effective as ordinary bright aluminium sheeting.

The manufacturers, emphasize, however, that the keying, produced by mechanical means, does not dispense with any of the normal precautions to be taken when preparing an aluminium surface for painting. The new finish is at present obtainable on Nora! 2S 4F1 and 3S 41-I alloys, which conform with B.S. 1470 SIC and NS3, respectively.

the British market to work directly from the battery without the need for a power unit and vibrator. the Pyc TCR.1000 model has been introduced at a price of £20 9s. 6c1. Its current consumption is stated to be low (1 amp.) because of the use of transistors, which also affords high volume A printed circuit is also incorporated. This is both cheaper and more reliable than a circuit of conventional type with soldered connections. Known as the Pyeway, the set is 7 in. wide, 7 in. deep and 2 in. high, and all stations on the medium wave can be selected by turning the tuning knob: pushing this control in and out selects the Light Programme on 1.500 m.

The Pyeway is suitable for 12v. circuits with positive or negative earth.

Hand-made Fuel Lines AA RANGE of end assemblies and petrol and oil-resisting hose suitable for making up fuel lines is now being produced by Nobby Cables, Ltd., 438 Harrow Road,. London. W.9. It is stated that the design and principle othe assemblies ensures positive anchoring of each end, and produces a hand-made fuel line as efficient as the factory manufactured article.

End assemblies of all types cost 5s. per box of four, whilst banjos AC53AC68 are priced at Is. 4d. each. Assembly tools costing 3s. 6d. each are also available, and hose in 10-ft. lengths may be obtained at Is. 8d. per ft.
