30 cwt. Market Gardener's Wagon. 50 cwt. Tipper. 25-seater Coach.
STAND No. 25.
FOUR Star'vehicles are exhibited on this stand. Two of these are on 30 cwt., one on a 50 cwt., and one on a 3 ton chassis. The engine of all models is the same, a four-cylinder 20-25 h.p. with. cylinders Qat in ;pairs, the bore and stroke being 0 mm. and 150 mm. re
spectively, and rating 20.1 hp _ The gearbox gives four speeds and reverse, the rear axle on all models being worm driven.
Ont the-30 cwt. chassis are shown a market-gardener's wagon and a 'panelled box delivery van.. The former has fixed sides extending 2 ft. 5 ins, from the floor, and, above these, detachable rail or cage
sides, the total'depth coming to 4 ft. 7 ins. The width of the body is 5 ft. 5 ins., and the length 8 ft. 2 ins.
The panelled box delivery van has a load carrying space 8 ft. long by 5 ft. wide by 5 ft. 2 ins. high. In the rear are two large doors opening from the centre, whilst provision is also made for the interior of the vehicle being reached from the driver's seat. Both the market gardener's wagon and the box delivery van are shod with pneumatic tyres.
The 50 cwt. chassis is shown complete with an end-tipping body, the wellknown Star tipping gear being employed. The body is of the platform type, with aides 18 ins, high and a drop-down end:
Mounted on a 3 ton chassis, which gives a specially long wheelbase suitable for the work, is the Star char-&-bancs. The body is divided into four rows of seats, and gives comfortable seating accommodation for 25 persons. A Capecart extension hood gives adequate protection against wet weather. The char-à-bancs is tastefully finished in grey, with nickel fittings. The manufacturers are the Star Engineering Co,, Ltd., of Frederick Street, Wolverhampton.
