THE Saurer chassis are certainly amongst the "finestimported into this country. They are full of interesting and practical features, which go to improve efficiency and durability.

The exhibit comprises three vehicles and a chassis. The largest of the vehicles is a 5 ton van, built for Pickfor8s, Ltd., the body of which is of exceptional capacity.

Next comes a 4 ton standard lorry with lilt cover, hinged sides and tailboard.

The tilt cover can readily be dismantled In a few moments.

One vehicle which will certainly attract a great amount of attention is the 5 ton

three-way tipping wagon. This embodies an hydraulic ram, which operates a double lever shaped like a bellcrank. The ends of this double lever are connected by two links to a ball carried;in a socket attached to the body. The body is carried on two special cross-members, and is supported at four points on ball swivels, with which is incorporated the locking devices. , A special gate-change lever, in the eabecontrols the' locking devices, so that the body can lift away from any two which are released.

The 2 ton chassis shows the various features for which the Saurer is famous. These include a dished rear _axle, direct bevel drive, end a special device by which the magneto is retarded"when the starting handle is engaged. Notable, also, are the long, flat springs end the special engine brake. The latter is obtained by shifting the camshafteso that a special set of cams is brought into operation.
