The engines of the petrol vehicles are very 'similar, that of the 2 and 21 ton models having a bore and stroke of 102 mm. by 140 mm., the dimensions of the 25 cwt. engine being. 83 mm. by 114 mm. On both types the valves are set at an angle in the cylinders, a position which has been found to give treat efficiency with low petrol consumption. The cylinder heads are detachable and water cooled, the rockers operating the valves being enclosed in covers, the removal of which allows the tappets to be easily adjusted. Cooling of the 25 cwt. and 2 ton engines is by thermo:syphon, whilst on the 2i ton engine circulation is by a pump of the centrifugal type.

On the 25 cwt. a three-speed-andreverse gearbox is fitted, the changes being operated by a central ball change lever. The back axle is of the wormdrive pattern, and suspension front and Dear is by semi-elliptic springs, solid tyres being fitted as standard. The electric vehicle is capable of carrying a net load of 21 tons. Energy is stored in a series of batteries conveniently carried in boxes placed on each side of the frame members. The motor, which is a Vickers, armour-covered, • is slung from the chassis cross-members in the position usually occupied on petrol vehicles, by the gearbox, but is .slightly off-set to allow for a reduction gear of approximately. 3 to 1. to the propeller shaft. The gear is housed in a casing which carries the bearing for the forivard end of the universal joint, this being of the fork and pin type. •

The 2 ton chassis is shown fitted with a double-purpose body suitable for use as a 20-seater char4-bancs, or for haulage, and easily convertibles The price of this complete is £1,205.
