Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Steam Wagon. Steam Tractor. ,Electric Vehicle. Sleeping Van.

STAND No. 75.

7 ERY little alteration has taken place V for some years in the design of the 1d-established steam tractors, and this emark is as applicable to the Garrett as o others. The machine on the stand is ubber-tyred, and is equipped with wind. rag drum and a length of steel 'rope. 'here is a canopy extending from the rent of the tractor to the rear of the

river's seat. Beyond this, there is ttle calling for -comment. The engine ; a compound, working with steam at BC/ lb. per sq. in., and so fitted that Li e 1.p. cylinder can utilize steam direct mail the boiler. The rubber-tyred trailer ttached to this machine his cast-steel heels with plain crass-section spokes. It is wooden-framed, and the axles and carriages, both front and rear, are practically interchangeable with the exception of the fitting of the turntable, which is, of course, to be found' on the fore

carriage only. The wheels are interchangeable, those at the rear having

brake drums bolted to them. The brake gear itself is eubstantial, and operated by chain from the tractor.

The steam wagon is a standardbovertype production, and calls for little comment. Attention spay be directed to the substantial locomotive type screw-down brake, which is fitted so that it operates on the differential gear on the rear axle. It, appears to be tremendously strong, and is supplemented by side brakes, which operate in drums in the rear wheels, In the case of both of these brakes there is ample provision for facility of adjustment.

The electric vehicle is of the singleMotor type, driving forward by enclosed chain to the differental shaft, whence final transmission is by roller chains, one to eaell rear wheel. The mounting of the differential case in spherical brackets on the frame is interesting. The-battery is an Ironclad Exide, underslung, and easily a.ceessibleaat either side for renewal and attention.
