STAND No. 59.

0 NE of the exhibits which is attracting the most attention on the I3erliet stand is the new overhead wormdriven passenger model suitable for coach bodies with a capacity for 30 persons, or a load of 3i tons. This new model has been described in detail by us, but it will be of interest to enumerate

its salient features. The engine is fourcylindered, with thecylinders cast in pairs. Behind this is the Hele-Shaw multiple-disc clutch, from which a short

card= shaft takes the drive to a threepoint suspended four-speed gearbox, thence the drive is by way of a cardan shaft with a star type universal joint at the front end and a fabric joint at the rear. The worm gearing is of David Brown manufacture. The chassis is particularly well sprung, the rear saprings being. underslung.

Another worm-driven chassis is also shown. This is a 30 cwt. model and has unit...construction for engine, clutch, and gearbox. Both the chassis are mounted on Michelin pneumatic tyres, twin being fitted at the rear. The third chassis is a new 4 ton model, which looks exceptionally strong for its capacity. This vehicle has a double-reduction rear axle and unclerslung springs. The last exhibit is a 3 ton standard lorry with canvas tilt cover.
