STAND No: 96.

THE BakĀ° chassis which is a combination of the Ford Chassis and a special frame, axle and wheels-, is becoming a most popular unit for all purposes. There are almost 5,000 of them oil the road.. In addition to the Baico chassis, a Ford 1 ton chassis is shown, fitted with an " Xtendatonna," which consists of a frame giving 3 ft. extra loading space. This frame carries 44 in. semi-elliptic springs, which take the place of the Ford transverse spring. This combination is particularly suitable for long bodies and

One of these is a special export model, which can be used for the transportiof either. passengers or goods, the seats being removable for the latter purpose. The body' has a permanent canopy and side curtains, and is provided with a central punkha, which can be operated either from inside the vehicle or from the outside, as required. An air space of 2i ins, is allowed between the two layers of the roof, and the whole body can be dismantled and re

assembled with the utmost ease to facilitate packing. The chassis emplOyed is a standard 30 cwt, commercial model.

The other vehicle is mounted on the special Baico passenger chassis, which has a longer vrbeelbase and exceptionally long springs. "The body is of the permanently enclosed, saloon coach type, the windows being fitted on rubber rollers, so that one or more can be slid sideways behind the others in hot weather. The seating capacity is for 20 persons in addition to the driver, who can act as conductor.
