FURTHER TO LAST week's CM article 'Consolidation hubs on London borders will halt polluting trucks, says Boris; two questions spring to mind: who is going to fund these and where does one find the necessary facilities at an affordable price?

Consolidation hubs would also attract a limited number of companies; for example. the brewing industry would be a definite 'no; despite the members of the Brewery Logistics Group running circa 1.000 vehicle days per week into London. Once again the commercial vehicle is seen as the villain — and the necessity for deliveries into London appears not to be considered when one knows if it wasn't for the CV, nobody would work, live or play in the capital.
