• Whitwick Engineering has introduced a lorry sheeting platform which is designed to support drivers while they sheet their truck.
It allows the driver to step safely on to the load while sheeting, by being attached to a harness and inertia reel.
It is hoped to cut down on the 89 serious accidents reported in the 12 months to 31 March 1992 from staff falling off trucks.
The platform costs £1,830 (ex-VAT) and the harness and inertia reel cost around 000.
