Association would support to its utmos regulations based on road safety, it could se no justification for regulations—such as thos banning amber headlights—which were base, solely on convenience, Mr. G. Turvey, assistar secretary of the Association, told the Hu and East Riding area on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Transport had openi admitted that this proposed regulation wa being introduced sorely in the interests uniformity. No road safety features wer involved and the personal preferences of peopl who chose to fit amber headlights apparentl counted for nought. Although TRTA had strong] opposed this proposal it had found little suppoi from other quarters.

There were too many regulations an proposed regulations on points of detail an this was not, or should not be, the purpose ( road transport law. There was great need ft more co-ordination in the framing of tt regulations.
