Mr. D. L. Fytche, traffic manager of c company, pointed out that on express rvices between Manchester. Stockport d• Scarborough they passed the Butlin :e, but, apart from July and August, ey were not allowed to set down ssenge US the re.

The proposals were strongly opposed r British Railways on the-grounds that 1947 they had spent a great deal of money building a special line running right to the camp and they would suffer traffic abstraction if the application was granted. Mr. P. Kershaw, for H.R., submitted that the railways were quite capable of dealing With all the traffic offered and there was no need for a service to be superimposed upon the present one. Mr. Fytche, for North, Western, said they were not after railway traffic.

Mr. Williamson gave North Western permission to set down at Filey throughout the 1961 sea-son but attached a condition stating that before 1962 operation commenced they must come before the Commissioners again.
