Mr. Carruthers, after war service, joined Eastern Counties Omnibus Co., Ltd., in 1946, as chief traffic assistant at the company's head office. He was appointed superintendent of the Eastern area in 1954.

• MR. FREDERICK BERNARD BOLTON has been appointed chairman of the Atlantic Steam Navigation Co., Ltd., and of its subsidiary company, Frank Bustard and Sons, Ltd. He succeeds Mr. Claud Barrington, whose death was announced recently. Mr. Bolton is an underwriting member of Lloyd's, a member of the Dover Harbour Board and chairman of the Bolton Steam,Shipping Co.. Ltd.: the North Yorkshire Shipping Co., Ltd.; Glover Bros. SMI1H is resigning his position as assistant sales manager Clayton Dewandre Co., Ltd., on November 30. He has formed his own company, called Ken Smith (Trailers).
