• The Government is considering moves to outlaw unofficial strikes by public transport workers in the wak-e of Monday's bus, tube and train strike in London.
Department of Employment officials are believed to be considering moves to make unions liable for damages to businesses caused by unofficial strikes.
Most bus services in the centre of London were cancelled on Monday as the strike, for a 14% pay rise, began to bite. Nine tnidibus services ran normally, as did about 150 outer London services.
