• Midland Fox has added Shelton Osborne of Wollaston, Northants to its fast-growing list of independent takeovers. The deal includes 18 coaches and an established tour business which will be run as a separate unit.
Joint owners John Osborne and Paul Gilbey are retaining the company's property, and Gilbey will stay on to manage the business. The operation will be controlled by Fox's Market Harborough depot. The fleet includes high-spec Daf MB200s with Van Hool coachwork, which are based in United Counties territory but run tours and excursions throughout the UK.
The purchase comes hot on the heels of Fox's takeover of Leicester City Bus's minibus operation (CM 26 April-3 May). In the past two years, Fox has snapped up Wreake Valley Travel, Fairtax Astill & Hordan, and County Travel's bus operation.
