THE ROAD Transport Show to be held at Brighton it October, is beginning to takt shape.
Organiser the Road Haulago Association has announces that HRH The Duke of Glouc ester is to open the show ot the evening of Friday 21 October.
Admission will be by catalo gue, also available in earl September through RH) members, price 50p. The RI-Ii reports that the initial es timate of attendance for tho three-day show is around 30,000.
It is intended that the cata logue itself will become 4 "standard work of referenco on road transport".
At present, more than hal the available exhibition spaco has been taken, but mostly 132 companies directly involve( in road haulage. The RH/ would welcome more nar ticipation by manufa household goods, s' importance of rcniu treigh transport in their distribution To encourage hauliers ano others to bring parties of visi tors to the show at Brighton, ; variety of "travel packs" ha been put together for thosi booking coaches, trains o aircraft. These packs includ fares, admission and, i necessary, accommodation.
At Brighton itself, as well a the indoor displays in th Metropole Hotel, some "eye catching outdoor activities are planned for the seafront.
These, says the RHA, wil appeal to the whole of th family and not just to those ii the industry.
