Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

To cope with 'increased demand, Air Products, Ltd., have recently added 'three articulated tankers to their fleet. They were designed for the transport of liquid oxygen or nitrogen and each has a capacity of 400,000 Cu. ft. of these gases (about 4,200 gal. in liquid form).

The three tanker semi-trailers 'which are of integral construction with tandem axles were built by the concern's parent company in America, Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., Pennsylvania, but it is intended that further units of the same design will be built by Air Products, Ltd„ themselves at their Acrefair works near Wrexham.

Light-alloy was used almost entirely in the construction of the tanks and fittings. Compartments above the wheel arches and at the sides of the tank for the stowage of such things as hoses and connectors are of reinforced-plastics construction. A Hendrickson tandem axle bogie is used in conjunction with Firestone air suspension and the retractable two-speed landing gear (made of light alloy) is by Holman and Co., Inc., of Cincinnatti, Ohio. Firestone light-alloy wheels are employed and the tyres fitted are Firestone 10.00-20, 16 ply.

A compartment at the rear of the tank houses the connections for loading and discharging the tank, the discharge pumps and motor and various meters. A contents gauge is mounted at the front end of the tank.

A.E.C. Mercury Mk. II tractive units with Crane fifth-wheel couplings are used with each of the semi-trailers. The tractive units have Park Royal cabs and were supplied and painted by C.V. (Sales and Repairs), Ltd., Basildon, Essex.
