XPORT orders for the Leyland Comet to/al over £3m. this year, state Leyland Motors, Ltd., who report that overseas demands for the first four months of this year were nearly twice the level for 1955. The increase affects the whole Leyland range, but is particularly heavy for Comet buses and goods vehicles.

The Ulster Transport Authority, who are taking delivery of 60 Tiger Cubs, have ordered a further 59 of these vehicles. Bodies will be built in the U.T.A. workshops in Belfast and will be c18 7 ft. 6 in. wide, in accordance with present regulations in Northern Ireland.

These models are replacing singledeckers of heavier type. Prolonged tests were made with the Tiger Cubs on normal services before the vehicles, the first underfloor-engined types in the U.T.A. fleet, were adopted.

A/S Oslo Sporveier, Oslo, Norway, who took delivery of 15 Worldmasters few weeks ago, have ordered another 15 of the same specification. The vehicles, which were chosen by the operators despite severe Scandinavian and German competition, will be used on maximum-capacity services in the Norwegian capital.

A/S Oslo Sporveier have more than 65 Leyland-engined vehicles. The Worldmasters have power-operated steering and 150-b.h.p. engines. Heavy springs permit a gross laden weight of 15 tons. Wheelbase length is 20 ft. and bodies will be 36 ft. long.
