Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NI Renault VI plans to double its FiGV production to 100,000 units a year by 2005, says chairman and chief executive Patrick Faure—and the company will seek appropriate alliances to achieve this goal.

Speaking in Paris last week Faure announced a return to profit and revealed that negotiations are already underway with a number of other manufacturer's.

Further restructuring is planned over the coming year.

Citing existing agreements with Daf (for cabs) and ZF (for transmissions), Fauna added: "We don't want to reject any possibility at this stage, although we will rule out one: we cannot be sold."

China, Russia, South America and the Middle Fast are key targets for expansion, and the group is also making a determined effort in Germany, where it wants to expand its 2% market share to 5% by 2005.

• Last year Renault made a net profit of FFr859m (1.91.6m) on a turnover of FFr40.5bn (£4.3bn), compared with a FFr336m (£35.8m) loss the previous year on a turnover of FFr343bn (£3.6bn).
