MACHINES ranging from 5to 100-ton capacity are marketed by this company. The main feature of them all is that they are hand powered in their basic form and all but the smallest can be supplied with a motorized pump. The machines are made by the Stenhoj company, of Denmark.

Smallest m the range is the 5-ton model. The only one of the models that is a one-piece, selfcontained unit, this machine will accept a maximum depth of workpiece of 5.5 in. The gross weight of the machine is 328 lb. It is intended for bench mounting and costs £59 195. 6d.

The 25-ton unit has a fabricated framework incorporating an adjustable table which provides a maximum work dimension of 29.7 in. wide and 34 in. deep. The ram travel on this model is 7.125 in. and the machine costs £103 10s.

A similar ram is used on the 40-ton model. This also comprises a fabricated frame but in this case has a slightly smaller work depth, whilst the width is greater by nearly 10 in. This is the smallest una to be equipped with the two-stage hand pump, the low pressure side for rapid advance of the ram and the high pressure for actual work once the ram has made contact. This unit is priced at £159 10s.

The 40-ton and above machines are fitted with a small winch for raising and lowering the work tables, making it possible for one man to carry out this operation on his own. The 60-ton unit follows closely the design of the 40-ton one, but is more robustly constructed and carries a bigger ram having a stroke of 8 in. This unit will accommodate work of up to 35.5 in. wide and 31.875 in. high and costs £207 10s.

The largest and most expensive at £379 10s. is the 100-ton model, which weighs just over 22 cwt. It is equipped with planed bed tables and the table winch is geared. A clear width of work of 42.25 in. and a maximum clear height of 33 in. is provided and the machine is claimed to be extremely accurate in operation. All the models are supplied with a pair of planed vee blocks as standard equipment and the 5-ton model is also supplied with a ram extension.
