THIS concern is well known for its floorcleaning machines and also markets a wide variety of products, including sealers and cleaners for treating all types of floor.
Two of the products carry the name Cleanway, one is called Solvent Degreaser and the other Oil-Absorbent Compound. Solvent Degreaser is applied direct from the can and after being allowed to soak for 5 to 10 min., the floor is scrubbed and then the emulsified deposit mopped up. The product can be used on stone, concrete and granoll thic floors, but not on linoleum or rubber surfaces.
Cleanway Oil-Absorbent Compound is a granular material intended for removing oil that has been spilled on floors or for spreading over areas likely to have oil spilled on them to prevent its absorption into the concrete.
Another floor-cleaning product from the concern is Glift, which is recommended for concrete and granolithic floors in the same way as Cleanway Solvent Degreaser. To provide resistance to the absorption of oil deposits, Bourne Seal is offered for application to the same types of floor after cleaning. It is available in a range of four colours.
Similar products intended for use on other types of floor—linoleum, thermoplastic tiles, rubber and mastic asphalt—are available from Progress, and the concern operates a comprehensive technical service scheme to provide customers with recommendations to overcome all floor maintenance problems. cleaning material especially designed for use on concrete floors.
This concrete cleaner is called R.19 and is a solvent based on detergents and alkalis. When mixed with water at a concentration of up to 10 per cent and applied to oil or grease deposits on floors by brush, the solution emulsifies with the deposits and can then be hosed off—preferably after allowing to soak.
