Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AGRANULAR material—Spilsorb—is available from this company for soaking up oil and other liquid deposits. When saturated the granules become darkened according to the viscosity of the liquid being cleaned up and used particles still retain their whitish colour amongst the other darkened granules. As a result the colour change gives a direct indication of when the absorbent properties have been completely used. The material can be used again until the indication is that it is fully saturated.

When saturated, Spilsorb is non-sticky and does not form a cake or "mud", still retaining its granular, free-flowing condition so that it can be easily swept up. Because it does not adhere to shoes or tyres as sawdust does, it can be used around vehicle lifts and lubrication areas to soak up the inevitable drips that occur.

As well as Spilsorb, Bartoline sell Barterge, which is a general-purpose .liquid detergent useful for all sorts of cleaning applications, including walls, lightly used floors and vehicle bodywork. This varies in price from 1 Is. 3d. per gal. for single 1 gal. to 8s. per gal. when purchasing 45 gal. drums. Carriage is paid on 5 gal, or over.
