Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Pioneer Works, Hanger Lane, London W5. nISC-, orbitaland belt-type sanders are manufactured by this company. Sizes of 7 in.and 9 in.-diameter disc sanders are produced with the cheapest and lightest one—Model 1-1S7—having a 7 in. disc and a full-load spindle speed of 2.600 r.p.m. (4,200 r.p.m. light); this is a single-insulated unit.

Two double-insulated models are available1)I57 and DIGS9—the first mentioned being for heavy-duty sanding and the second being a heavy-duty sander/grinder. These machines weigh 17 lb. and 18.75 lb. respectively and cost £34 10s. and £39 10s.

Known as the Wolf Sand-Easi, the belt sander supplied has a belt size of 3 in. by 24 in. and a light-load belt speed of 1,200 ft. per mm. It is fairly heavy at 19 lb. and is supplied as a belt sander kit complete with a steel carrying case which has ample room for it and the accessories.

Of greater use in the automobile repair industry is the orbital type Model 0R37, which has an effective pad size of 3.625 in. by 7.25 in. and orbits at 3.680 times per min. on normal load. A light machine at 7 lb. 3 oz., it costs £16 15s.

A second orbital model which has recently been announced is the Sapphire, a machine which gives over 14,000 orbits per mm. on a diam. of only 4 in., claimed to be the secret of faster and finer work. This machine weighs only 6 lb. 8 oz., has an effective pad size of 4.5 in. by 9 in., and costs 126 19s. 6d. The special All Insulation" gives absolute safety in wet or damp conditions often found in workshops and garages.

A vertical polisher/sander, also in the Sapphire range, provides spindle speeds of up to 1,650 r.p.m. and has a net weight of 5 lb. II oz.
