TARGER singleand double-decker buses are to be introduced by Leeds City Transport to give greater comfort and eventually cut out the need for standing passengers.
As a first step towards this policy 10 AEC Swift rear-underfloor-engined single-deckers with 36 ft., 48-seat bodies by Chas. H. Roe Ltd. have been ordered. These vehicles will be designed as all-purpose vehicles with particular regard to the introduction of express-type services in the future.
