LIST R.5 has been another great success. With decisions on 68 of the 808 vehicles on offer still deferred, over 76 per cent, of the vehicles have been sold, Even in the case of units with premises, which are normally difficult to sell, 70 per cent, of the lorries have found buyers.

On Tuesday, the results of tenders' were as follows:—

Units with premises:—Accepted, 7 units (129 vehicles); rejected, 1 unit (23 vehicles); deferred, 1 unit (32 vehicles); total, 9 units (184 vehicles).

Vehicle-only units:—Accepted, 287 units (488 vehicles); rejected, 59 units (100 vehicles); deferred, 18 units (36 vehicles); total, 364 units (624 vehicles).

Many names of buyers of units in list R.5 appear on pages 246-247.

List Sc.3, containing about 800 vehicles in Scotland, will be published by the British Transport Commission next Wednesday.

LEYLAND CAB FACTORY REPLANNED

Pr HE bodybuilding factory of Leyland

Motors, Ltd., has been completely reorganized to rationalize production of cabs for goods vehicles, and engine compartments and front-end sub-cab structures for vertical-engined passenger vehicles. The new system of line production already gives twice as great an output as the old. Timber has been eliminated in Leyland cabs.
