Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Preston haulier R A Atkinson had unwelcome visitors on Saturday 6 June, when thieves stole two trucks and a trailer worth £70,000 from its depot. Both vehicles — a 4x2 Seddon Atkinson tractive unit, and a 6x2 rigid Seddon, converted from a tractor in Atkinson's own workshops — were loaded with orange juice, industrial rubber hose and plastic extrusions in steel stillages.

Company director Alan Atkinson says he is "totally amazed than any one should want to steal these vehicles for either their load, or for the vehicles themselves, particularly as there were newer trucks in the yard."

"The fact that one of these vehicles is unique gives us some hope that we may be able to recover both trucks," he says.

The 4x2 artic is painted red and maroon, with registration GBV 641S. It has a Cummins 290E engine and its chassis number is 33196.

The 6x2 sleeper cab (BCW 293V), has a similar livery and a 8.5m-long flat body. Its chassis number is 42124 and its lifting rear axle is fitted with wide single tyres.

Atkinson also lost a 12.2m Crane Fruehauf trailer in the raid, chassis OLP 0102/15, ministry number 16332000. A reward is offered for the recovery of the stolen vehicles: anyone with information should call (0772) 744327.
