been carried out on the central reservation of the M1 in Northamptonshire, which reduces the available carriageway width between Junction 16 and 18. This work is affecting southbound traffic more than Northbound, and during the next 6-8 weeks the Eastbound carriageway of the M45 will be closed to all traffic from Dunchurch to Junction 17 of the Ml.
Vehicles carrying loads wider than 3.1m must call from the emergency phone 3296B for authority to enter the roadworks under escorted, or from Rothersthorpe services if travelling Northbound.
No abnormal loads will be allowed through between 07.00 and 09.00, or 16.00 and 18.00 hours daily. In addition, due to peak traffic, northbound trucks may face similar restrictions on Fridays between 14.00 and 16.00 hours.
The current 3m-wide, and 15.5 metre-long limits (18m for drawbars) will still apply to the A45 before Junction 16 and the AS at Weedon. All loads outside those limits travelling from Towcester via the A43 must leave the M1 at Junction 18 and use the A428 and AS.
Similar restrictions on the A45, east of Northampton will continue until 30 November, All wide loads must use the signposted diversion route via Great Billing Way, the A4500 and Wilby Way.
