MAT TURKEY TROT
• MAT Shipping is now offering up to 12 trailer groupage services a month to Turkey. The trailers depart 2-3 times a week from MAT depots in London, Birmingham and Manchester, with a transit time to Istanbul of 7-8 days.
MAT Shipping has a long involvement with the Turkish market through its assocation with Ulusoy Transport Company. All Groupage trailers sent by MAT to Turkey are driver accompanied and unload at Istanbul where Ulusoy handles customs clearance and local delivery.
Apart from its groupage service, MAT Shipping also offers a load service from all parts of the UK to Turkey. Full loads are operated in conjunction with Ulusoy, using both British and Turkish trucks. Transit time is also between 7-8 days. For further details call MAT Shipping on 01-349 4434.
HALCON BACKUP FOR OWNER DRIVERS
• Canvey Island-based Halcon Motors (0268 685000) is offering workshop, repair, and maintenance services at its Charfleets Industrial Estate site to meet the requirements of owner-drivers and small haulage firms. Halcon's workshops are open from 07.30 to 17.30 hours, although a full 24-hour breakdown serive is operated. In addition to offering secure parking for up to 20 HGVs, 1-IM also provides refueling and diesel bunkering for operators.
