0 According to Leyland Daf, the European demand for buses and coaches has declined from 23,600 units in 1980 to 18,000 last year.
While in most countries demand remained fairly constant, Britain, West Germany and Holland bore the brunt with losses of 64%, 31% and 36% respectively.
In contrast, Spain experienced a huge 91% leap in PSV sales to 2,061 last year.
Leyland Dais current 11% share of the home PSV market reflects steady growth but while Volvo's 27% is fairly constant the former leader, Leyland Bus' 26% is 45% down on the same period last year.
